"Calm Day in Boston Harbor" by William Robert Davis, is a oil painting, done on a 22"x42", was painted after the Boston Harbor. William Davis is one of the best marine artists in the world, because of the fact of how he uses oils instead of waterpaints. Most water artists use watercolors, where William uses oil and makes the water look like it is moving and the reflection in the water from the boats. William's paintings have won many awards for Excellence. Willaim grew up in Cape Cod, he toke interest in the way the water appeared he soon started to paint them. His favorite paints were oil. He used water colors before but never really cared for them. Not many artists use oil paints for marine peices. His favorite time of the day to paint is the sunset, because of how the sun hits the water and how it makes the water look red,yellow, and orange instead of blue. His famous peice, "Boston Harbor at Sunset", show this. I think Will does a great job using oils painting the water peices, but wouldn't watercolors be better? Joseph Willibrod Mahler

Joseph was known for his portiat darwing of many composers, like this one of, "Beethoveen", an his multi-talented gift, was born in the template 1778 in Germany. During his years of painting he went to study in Vienni, Italy. He decided to have a civil career, so painting is just a hobby to him. He painted 3/4 of Beethoveens' body, with him holding a lyre in his hand. Joseph painted about seven of these portiats, with other composers, like Antonio Salieri.
To me Joseph was a skilled painter and a good one, but I don't think he loved to do it as much as other famous painters. His paintings seem realistic, like the shades and tints of the paint on the canvas. Tell me your facts about Joseph paintings, and how real his paintings look to you.

Ai Xuan

"Autumn Wind", is a oil canvas painted piece by Ai Xuan. It is a chinese piece. I have not found alot of facts about this painting or the artist, but to me this painting is amazing! I love how the artist captures the girls black nuetral hair against a backround of many cool colors. I especially like how she has the clothing. A dark jacket with a white scarf. I like how the artist showed that contrast matters in a painting. Tell me what do you see in the painting and how this painting appeals to you.
