Giotto di Bondone

This painting is called, "Madonna and Child", by Giotto di Bondone. Bondone was born in Italy, around 1266. This painting was painted for the church of the Ognissanti in Flourence. The painting was a large painting 325 x 204 cm and was painted with tempera paints on a canvas.               This painting bascially showed the Virgin Mary and Chriest Child sitting on her lap.
I, personally like this painting by Bondone, because of the way he made it look, like the texture and the colors he used was very good. I especially liked how he got the angels in the bottom corners, to show that they were being watch from guardian angels. What do you like about this painting? How does it effect you? What do you think the angels mean?

Happy Valentines Day! I hope your day is filled with love and joy.
The portiat you see here is of Leon Bonnat, who was a French painter. This portiat was painted by Edgar Degas. Edgar was also a French artist, he was born in Paris, France, in 1834. Edgar is famous for painting of depict dancers. He mostly painted nude women. Even though he was really good at it, he alsways wanted to be a history artist, ever since he was a little boy. He came from a family of bankers.
I actually liked his paintings, especially the dancers, mostly because of how he captured the movement of the body and how he got the shapes of their bodies.
What's your favorite painting by Edgar Degas? Look him up and look for your favorite painting.

              Happy Valentines Day!

The painting remained in the palace until it was given to Louis XIV. Louis XIV put the painting to the Palace of Versailles. The painting was not well known, until the mid-19th century.
The Mona Lisa was named after the women who posed for the portiat, Lisa del Giocondo.

Starry Night

This is a famous painting, can you tell me who? Here is a hint this painting was created in Saint-Rémy, France in June, 1889. The artist is named Vincent Van Gough. One of the many reasons this is the most loved painting in the world is becuase of the way the brush strokes are on the canvas, he painted with oil paints on a blank canvas. Gough got this idea for this painting while he was staying in Aries, a french kingdom, looking out the window. He first created a pen sketch of this peice and then used oil paints to make the orignal painting.
This is my favorite piece of work because of how he made the colors mixed with each oher and how he used mostly cool colors and a little of warm. What does this painting mean to you? What's your opion? Tell me please it might have a impact on how I see things different from you.
